Lapaki
The Lapaki are one of the races able to take on both an anthro and a quad form. Though a Lapaki is usually only able to take on a regular lagomorph form and an anthro version of that form, those who have taken on a priest/priestess or mage profession are able to take on several additional species of lagomorph as their shapes. Lapaki are a mercenary race, meaning they are often hired to fight the battles of others. This has lost them a bit of pride in their own matters and is causing a slow decline in support of the old ways. But no one has forgotten the stories of their past greatness.
Does are generally smaller than bucks, but are not stopped from training to be warriors...Not to say that along the way many bucks don't try to make their lives hell. it takes a strong doe with an even stronger will to not only make it through training but the berating and the constant additional tests. Those whose quad forms are that of a white-tailed jackrabbit are usually left alone because of course, they tend to be larger than males. Many does who seek to learn the combat arts tend to seek to be look-outs rather than mercenaries because they are given less of a hard time (seeing as look-outs don't really see combat that much).
Bucks make up the majority of a clan's fighting force. All are required to learn combat for at least one year unless they seek to be priests or healers. Those professions for a buck though, are generally frowned upon as they are seen as more...'doe-ish' occupations. Only bucks are allowed to be the chief of a clan, however a few of the more proven in combat does seek to change this.
Though 'Lapaki' can be used as a general term for the whole race, those who are more 'rabbit' than 'hare' sometimes prefer to be called 'Shakame'.
Kitsune
Kitsunes are one of the races able to take on both an anthro and a quad form. Their magic is legendary and most train to be mages. They are a long lived race who are never at a lose for a trick or persuasive word to get them out of a dangerous situation. A common misconception is that all receive additional tails as they get older. However, only priestesses (and only priestesses), grow additional tails. Or at least, this is usually the case. Those with this ability are seen as god chosen and will as a result either choose the priestess profession or be pressured into it by family.
Females are generally more respected in this race because they are the only ones able to show the multiple tail gene. Males can only carry it.
Kitsunes do not form clans or tribes, preferring to be loners or form family groups. They were the first of the nonhuman species to attempt to integrate themselves in the human's lives before they could be seen as possible slave meat. So far they have been successful. Humans don't see them in a kind light, but at the very least they don't try to enslave a Kitsune very often. However, this could be due to a general fear of their powerful magical abilities.
Mucaro
Mucaros are one of the races able to take on both an anthro and a 'quad' form. Mucaros spend most of their time as owls, usually only taking on their anthro forms during combat with non-mucaros. They are almost as reclusive as elves, preferring to make contact with others only when necessary.
This race is known for its skill in assassination. They are silent killers and those who make themselves known as such are not easily bought. They know the value of gold in K'verhon and will not hesitate to ask any price of anyone. Both males and females take on this profession with no raised eyebrows from either side.
Elf
A mysterious race that dwells only in tropical Hathz'k. Their skin tends to be a dark tan and their eyes are pupiless. Those who live within the Sea of Palms tend to be tall and lean, while those who live on the shore of Lake Iswed are shorter and more compact with longer ears. They are a race that is more concerned with the arts than combat at the moment, but there are still those who remember their skills at archery and knives. They are reclusive and are convinced that the humans will be content with K'verhon and the creatures within it.
Elves are very religious and show this by building magnificent temples in honor of the various gods and goddesses. They hold many festivals every year in honor of singular gods as well as a large one at the the new year for all of the divine. This festival lasts two days, with the first day focusing on the gods and the second on the goddesses.
Human
Humans are the only race not to be created by the god they primarily worship. Rather than Hittavainen, they were created by his daughter, Wenet. However, they follow more ni hittavainen's footsteps than their actual creator. They are highly influenced by what he does, whether it be in taking multiple wives or seeking control over more than what they have been given. Currently they seek total control over k'verhon and the surrounding lands as well as the creatures that inhabit them. They have, as a result, started the slave trade.
While the elves do have a city, humans are the only race to actively make villages, taverns, and other such buildings. They show their appreciation for the gods (primarily Hittavainen) by making statues at the center of villages.
