List of Gods/Goddesses
Apollomiestro; Hare god- Born from Kalulu and Sasanka, Apollo is the god of performance and talent. Created from the mix of Beauty and Tricks, he is paid homage by all talented hares of the world; Be they dancer, singer, music-player, acrobat, woodworker, blacksmith, or any other performance or talent not listed. It is said he is in love with Wenet, daughter of Hittavainen and Wepuat and that out of this love he graces every child she blesses with some sort of talent.
Arcas; bear god-- Arcas is the god of strength and protection (in war times). He often appears as a larger than average grizzly bear with steel claws plated in gold. He gave the humans their metal after the god Hittavainen begged him for a way for his people to defend themselves against the monsters born from the cursed wombs of his many divine wives. Arcas shows favor to all.
Asena; wolf goddess-- Goddess of mothers, Asena is a shape shifting wolf. Her most common form is that of a wolf with a coat whiter than snow. Human and animal mother alike may call on her in times of need for she shows favor to all who know the joys of motherhood. Her wrath towards those who would harm mothers (and women in general) is legendary, as is her love for Fenrir.
Burung; owl goddess-- Often appearing as a barn owl, Burung is the goddess of wisdom. Though she prefers her children (owls), it has been said that others may call on her by setting out a gift of mouse outside their door.
Callisto; bear goddess-- With a shining pelt made from the senescence of stars, Callisto is the most beautiful of the goddesses. Unfortunately for the more lustful gods she has eyes only for Arcas. Taking on no specific breed of bear to appear as, she rules the stars as the constellation ‘Ursa Major’.
Fenrir; wolf god-- Taller than even Hittavainen, Fenrir appears as a dark reddish brown wolf. His body appears to be transparent, as though made of mist. He is the god of death and possesses many servants, one of each animal, that go about delivering disease and collecting souls that are ready to pass on.
Freki; wolf god-- Freki is the youngest of Fenrir’s sons. His coat is blacker than night nd he chases after his older brother Hati in hopes that he might be the moon whenever Hati catches Sasanka. However, because his pelt is so dark, he only ends up making an eclipse until Sasanka is reborn again.
Hati; wolf god-- One of the twins of Fenrir‘s brood. He chases the moon goddess Sasanka.
Hittavainen; human god-- The chief god of humans he was created by the lagomorph gods as a way of teaching their children a lesson. He did this by shooting Michabor, the first hare/rabbit, through the ear, thereby weakening the abilities of all mortal lagomorphs, after Wepuat begged him not to kill the mortal lagomorphs. After this he and Wepuat wed and later had one daughter, Wenet, whom he killed in a fit of rage after she (Wenet) created the humans. He also locked Wepuat away with Fenrir. While his wife was in captivity he bedded many other goddesses. When Wepuat escaped she not only left him but cursed all children fathered by him and born of another woman to be monsters. Hittavainen is now all but the complete master of all the gods and his people, the humans, have followed his example by laying claim to all the land in Torali as well as the creatures that inhabit it.
Kalulu; hare god-- Kalulu is the god of tricks for hares and rabbits. He is most often seen as a jackalope. He seeks to be the lord of tricksters and often steals the true lord, Reynard’s, bag of tricks.
Kanko; fox goddess-- Kanko is the goddess of knowledge. She appears as a golden kitsune with nine tails. It is said that if you can find her on an eclipse moon, she will answer one question.
Manguni; owl god-- Manguni rules the night as a great-horned owl. He is close friends with Sasanka, hare though she may be, and wishes that he might save her from Hati. However, he wishes not to offend his other friend, Hittavainen, by doing so.
Ostara; rabbit goddess-- With a golden pelt that shines enough to light the entire sky, Ostara is seconded in beauty by only Callisto. She is chased by Fenrir’s son, Skoll, through the sky.
Reynard; fox god-- A brilliant red fox, Reyanrd is the lord of tricks and tricksters. He shows favor primarily to foxes and detests his hare counterpart, Kalulu.
San Toki; rabbit god-- San Toki is the rabbit of the mountains. Avalanches are caused when Skoll or Hati pass close to him as he will thump to warn of danger.
Sasanka; hare goddess-- Sasanka’s pelt is a glorious silver and her beauty is equal to that of her sister, Ostara. She is chased through the night sky by Hati, who is followed by Freki. Occasionally Hati will catch her and her place will be taken by Freki. However, she quickly regains life and the chase begins again.
Skoll; wolf god-- One of the twins of Fenrir’s brood, he chases Sasanka through the night.
Wenet; hare/human goddess-- Daughter of Hittavainen and Wepuat. She is the goddess of children and extends her protection to all little ones. She appears as a tan-skinned human woman with the head of a Highland Hare.
Wepuat; hare goddess-- Wepuat is the only bipedal full animal god. She often appears as a cape hare and is the goddess of fertility. She was once the wife of Hittavainen. During that time she gave birth to one daughter, Wenet.
